WE PROVIDE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT SERVICES FOR THE FULL RANGE OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME:
- all forms of coronary heart disease;
- arrhythmias (tachi- and bradyarrhythmia, combinations with heart defects, CHD and cardiomyopathies);
- acquired and congenital heart defects;
- heart failure;
- aortic impairment;
- brachiocephalic artery impairment;
- renal artery impairment;
- lower extremity vascular impairment;
- other visceral vascular impairments;
- myocarditis and pericarditis;
- cardiac tumors;
- cardiomyopathies;
- other cardiac conditions.
IN RSPC “CARDIOLOGY” WE USE STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT ALLOWING FOR SPECIFIC AND HIGH-TECHNOLOGY MEDICAL SERVICES FOR CARDIAC PATIENTS.
OUR KEY NON-INVASIVE METHODS INCLUDE:
- CT (computed tomography), including CT coronary angiogram, MRI, PET;
- ECG (including long-term ECG registration, chemical and exercise stress ECG);
- Two- and three-dimensional ultrasonography (2D and 3D), transesophageal Echo (TEE), Holter monitoring, and orthostatic blood pressure tests, laboratory tests.
OUR KEY INVASIVE METHODS INCLUDE:
- Cardiac catheterization for heart and coronary arteries evaluation (coronary angiography), including endothelial function test;
- X-ray examination of the aorta and its branches (aortography), myocardial biopsy;
- Catheterization for the diagnosis of heart valve defects, balloon dilation in cases of narrowed heart valve.
THERAPEUTIC METHODS (MEDICATION, ELECTROTHERAPY, INTERVENTIONS) ARE USED IN THE FOLLOWING CASES:
- CAD, and peripheral artery diseases (transesophageal balloon angioplasty, stenting);
- aortic diseases (linear and bifurcated stent-graft implantation);
- congenital and acquired heart diseases;
- arrhythmias.
PACEMAKER IMPLANTIATION AND PROGRAMMING, SURGICAL TREATMENT:
- coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), MCBG, congenital and acquired heart defect correction, heart valvular prosthesis & reconstruction;
- arterial, aortal prosthesis, vein surgeries;
- transmyocardial laser revascularization.
MORE THAN 3,000 HEART SURGERIES ARE PERFORMED IN OUR CENTER EACH YEAR with the following percentage ratio:
- 40–45% for open heart surgeries;
- 20–25% for surgeries in the settings of heart rhythm disturbances;
- 15-20% for X-ray endovascular surgeries;
- 10% for vascular surgeries.
The team guided by academician Yuri Ostrovsky performed the first in Belarus heart transplant surgery in February 2009. In 2012, the first combined heart and kidney transplant surgery was performed. The first heart transplant surgery in children was performed in February 2013. The first combined heart and lung transplant was performed in November 2016. In 2022, we reached the total of 500 transplants performed at our Center.
