The Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases was held in Minsk at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Cardiology» on October 26, 2018.
The conference was attended by the President of the National Medical Society of Preventive Cardiology, Deputy General Director of the Federal Research Center for Cardiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, MD. Pogosova Nana Vachikovna. In the report, the professor presented innovative approaches to reducing cardiovascular risk, and also shared her experience in carrying out and the results of preventive measures in Russia.
A report on the basic principles and the role of nutrition in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases was made by the Deputy Director for Scientific and Medical Work of the Federal Research Center for Nutrition, Biotechnology and Food Safety, Professor, Ph.D. Starodubova Antonina Vladimirovna.
The report of the Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Cardiology» Alexander Gennadievich Mrochek was devoted to an important problem of the prevention of sudden cardiac mortality.
Modern aspects of the prevention and treatment of arterial hypertension were considered in a presentation by the head of the laboratory of arterial hypertension of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Cardiology», associate professor, Ph.D. Pavlova Olga Stepanovna.
The conference was attended by the chairman of the Belarusian League against High Blood Pressure, Ph.D. Lazareva Irina Valentinovna, as well as research associates of the laboratory of arterial hypertension, Ph.D. Liventseva Maria Mikhaylovna and junior researcher Chernyak Sergey Viktorovich. Experts told about modern scientific areas for the prevention of arterial hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases, shared the results of the work of the Belarusian League to combat high blood pressure, and also raised an actual topic of studying vascular wall stiffness as a new goal of treating arterial hypertension.
Head of the Cardiology Department No. 1 of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Cardiology», Ph.D. Elena Vasilievna Kovsh presented a report on the cardiotoxicity of anticancer therapy of oncological diseases.
Actual problems of cognitive impairment in arterial hypertension and prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation were considered in the reports of the leading researcher of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Neurology and Neurosurgery», associate professor, MD. Sidorovich Emilia Konstantinovna and a leading researcher at the laboratory of heart rhythm abnormalities of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Cardiology», associate professor, Ph.D. Goncharik Dmitry Borisovich.
